Our Mission
At the Friendly Kitchen, our mission is to provide meals for the hungry in a warm and caring, non-discriminating environment through the coordination of community volunteer efforts. In recent years we have been bridging the gap with food insecurity in our community and delivering solutions to families.
The Impact
Our Family Friendly Meals program is our newest initiative which was launched in 2021. The goal is to assist seniors and families struggling with food insecurity. We deliver fully prepared and ready-to-be-served meal families can enjoy together. In two short years, this program has distributed over 60,000 meals as well as 40,000 pounds of food to those in need.
The Challenge and Opportunity
Our current space does not accommodate volunteers for both the in-person dining and the Family Friendly Meals program. This much needed addition will allow us to create a separate prep kitchen, enabling us to grow the Family Friendly Meals program.
As we continue to develop partnerships with other community-based organizations in Concord, we do not have the capacity to fill all our requests for assistance. This addition provides needed space for our mission.
