Board of Directors
Beth-Ann Barrett has worked at Northeast Delta Dental since July of 2000 as a Billing and Enrollment Coordinator. She is a longtime volunteer of over 30 years at the Friendly Kitchen – coordinating and leading a group of her fellow church members, as well as a group of Northeast Delta Dental colleagues. In 2014, she received the Spirit of New Hampshire Award in recognition of her efforts at the Friendly Kitchen. In 2019 she joined the Board of Directors, as a way to further her commitment to the Mission of the Friendly Kitchen.
Beth-Ann lives in Loudon with her husband, Chip. When she’s not working she enjoys reading, cooking, tending to her flower garden and canoeing on local ponds. She has raised two daughters and now enjoys trying to keep up with four grandsons.
Kate Daniels has served as the secretary to the board since her appointment in 2008. She lives and works at St. Paul's School where she is the Director of Academic Support. In addition to her work supporting students, she is the head of a boys dorm, coaches the girls cross country team, advises the Young Women's Club, the Yoga Club, and the Mindfulness Club. Prior to her move to SPS, Kate worked as a special education teacher in the Concord School District for almost twenty years. A graduate of UNH, Kate holds a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and a Master's in Special Education.
Joseph J. Kenney (Joe) is a resident of Concord and has more than 20 years of commercial banking experience, having worked in the Bedford, Manchester and Concord, New Hampshire markets for his entire career. He currently holds the title of Senior Vice President - Director of Commercial Lending at BankProv, where he leads a team of commercial banking professionals that serves the banking needs of commercial clients in both broad and niche markets throughout Southern New Hampshire and beyond. Joe is an active member of various non-profits and serves on several non-profit boards, including Granite United Way, The Moore Center, and The Friendly Kitchen. In his spare time, he likes to ski, workout at the gym and spend time with his family.
Rabbi Robin Nafshi
Rabbi Robin Nafshi was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2005. She joined Temple Beth Jacob in Concord, NH in July of 2010. Robin is a graduate of both New York University and Cornell Law School. She worked in the San Francisco Bay Area as an attorney, legal editor, and legal author before attending rabbinical school.
Feeding the hungry has been an important part of Robin's volunteer activities. While living in San Francisco for over 15 years, she was a weekly volunteer with Project Open Hand, an organization that initially provided home cooked meals to people living with HIV and AIDS. During rabbinical school, she volunteered with her seminary's soup kitchen. While serving a congregation in Central New Jersey, she was a part of the team that volunteered with a local soup kitchen. Since moving to New Hampshire, Robin has volunteered with the Friendly Kitchen as a member of her synagogue's volunteer team. She has been on the board of the Friendly Kitchen since 2013.
Ryan Frazier is a Commercial Loan Officer at Merrimack County Savings Bank in Concord, New Hampshire. A graduate of the Class of 2007, Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the University of New Hampshire and is also a member of the Class of 2019 from the New England School of Financial Studies. Ryan joined the Board of The Friendly Kitchen in October of 2019. He lives in New Boston with his wife Amy and two sons Braden and Austin. In his spare time, he enjoys the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Dave Matthews Band and Marvel Movies.
Connor Spern is the Development Director for The Friends Program, a nonprofit located in Concord, New Hampshire, and is a freelance graphic designer and jewelry artist. Connor started as a coordinator at The Friendly Kitchen in August of 2018 and later joined the Board of Trustees in October of 2019. She is also a Winter Shelter Manager for Concord Coalition to End Homelessness, the Events Coordinator for Concord Young Professional’s Network, a member of the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce’s Local Government committee, and a student at NHTI. Connor was the 2019 Concord Young Professional of the Year and received a Spirit of New Hampshire Award in the same year. She lives in Concord with her husband Eli and their two pets, Mabel Jean and Ivy Louise.
Pamela Walsh, of Concord, has 20 years experience in public communications, administration and management. She served as chief of staff for Governor Maggie Hassan; deputy chief of staff and policy director for Governor John Lynch; and press secretary to Gov. Jeanne Shaheen. She currently serves as a senior advisor in the U.S. Senate. Pamela has a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and a Master's in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. She is also a member of the Concord School Board.
Troy Burke has been in the healthcare industry for 20+ years involved primarily in the sleep and respiratory field of healthcare and he’s been volunteering at the Friendly Kitchen since 2015.
Johane Telgener currently resides in Concord, NH. She recently retired as the Director of the Center for Health Promotion with Concord Hospital. She has worked for Concord Hospital for 23years in the wellness field. She was instrumental in the development of the Capital Area Wellness Coalition, Wellness Coordinator Council of NH & Business Partners in Health Initiative for Concord Hospital.
She is a member for Granite United Way Community Impact Team. She also served as President for the Board of Directors for Intown Concord. She is involved with Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce Leadership Concord Community Member and an active member. She served on the board of New Futures, an advocacy hub whose mission is to improve the health and wellness of all New Hampshire residents through advocacy, education, and collaboration. She is very active in the community and supports many non-profits. She is passionate about making Concord a healthier place to live. She is the proud mother of two adult sons.
Bill Christie is a Shareholder and Director at Shaheen & Gordon, PA, where he has practiced law for over 25 years. He has been on the Board of Friendly Kitchen since 2012. Bill lives in Concord with his wife, Cinde Warmington.
Sue Buxton is the President of the Friendly Kitchen Board of Directors. She was a volunteer at the Hope House on Montgomery Street and was invited to serve on the Board after that building was destroyed by fire in 2011. She served on the Building Committee helping to acquire the current Friendly Kitchen property and plan for the new building. Sue holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Administration from Emmanuel College, a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from New England College and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She has over 30 years of experience working with Seniors from independence through skilled care. The hallmark of her career has been her advocacy for quality of life and quality of care for seniors. Sue has served on numerous committees including the first Quality of Life Council, a committee formed by the New Hampshire Commissioner of Health and Human Services to find ways to improve quality of care across the state and currently serves as the New Hampshire State Ombudsman for Long Term Care.
Fred Keach has a BA in Communications from the University of New Hampshire, 1985 and has been a Friendly Kitchen Board member since 2011. Fred is a local business owner. He is currently serving his 10th year on the Concord City Council in an At-Large position. He has been a former board member of several other local nonprofit organizations. Fred is the proud father of three grown children all living locally here in Concord.
